Fast Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) is the industry where product sale is very high in volume and these products we consume regularly like food, drinks, soaps etc. They are called fast moving because they usually come with expiry date, have short life and their volume of sales is very high. FMCG sector is the 4th largest sector in the Indian economy with Household & Personal Care products accounting for 50 per cent of FMCG Sales in India.

To understand the FMCG industry it can be broadly be categorized into following 4 segments

1) Household items such as soaps, detergent, and other cleaning materials etc.
2) Personal care items such as shampoos, beauty products, toothpaste etc. and
3) Food and Beverages such as snacks, tea, coffee, edibles oils, processed food cold drinks etc.
